Time is elastic. It speeds up, slows down, doubles back on itself. It presses in or slips away entirely. We try to measure it, manage it, make the most of it, often forgetting that it resists all efforts to be pinned down. This issue of Endless takes time as both its subject and its structure. Time as a material, a pressure, a luxury. Time as memory, as history, as the now. In these pages, it appears in many forms, the long hours it takes to create something beautiful, the archive that informs a present mood, the fleeting moment that somehow lingers. We have always considered Endless a project concerned with duration. Not just what’s new, but what stays. Not just the next, but the again. For Issue III, we pause, however briefly, to consider what time means in an industry that runs on the future but is fed by the past. What you’ll find here is not a conclusion, but a continuation.
